Gettysburg Battlefield Resort
Ultimate Resort
Open: May 15 through October 15
Gettysburg Battlefield Resort sits in the middle of an area rich in Civil War history and affords visitors the opportunity to enjoy yesteryear as well as the present day. You’ll want to start your step back in time by visiting the Gettysburg National Military Park. Literally surrounding the city, the park contains the Gettysburg Battlefield, the site of the most costly battle of the Civil War. On the battlefield, you’ll see the more than 1,300 monuments and markers in the 21-acre Gettysburg National Cemetery. Stop at the Soldier’s National Monument, near where President Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address. Relive how the Union soldiers were driven from the huge rocks in a standoff with the Confederate army at Devil’s Den. The barricade the Confederate troops erected, as a shield when they fired on Little Round Top, is still intact.
